Former Blues striker Jordan Rhodes netted just after the hour to see Town to a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in a scrappy affair at Ewood Park. There was little between the teams in a poor game with the only goal somewhat fortunate, Aaron Cresswell clearing off the line from Grant Hanley and Rhodes stabbing it over the line off Blues keeper Stephen Henderson. |

Town boss Mick McCarthy has named the expected side for today’s game at Blackburn with Stephen Henderson replacing the injured Scott Loach in goal the only change from last week's 4-0 victory over Middlesbrough. Loach suffered a sprained thumb in training on Thursday. Town will wear last season's black away kit. |

An own goal by Blackburn defender Jason Lowe seven minutes from time saw the Blues to a deserved 1-1 draw in their opening Championship fixture at Portman Road. Jason Scotland had laid Luke Hyam’s pass into the six-yard box for Chopra before the Rovers left-back diverted it home. The visitors had gone in front in the first half via debutant Colin Kazim-Richards. |

Blues boss Paul Jewell admits that Saturday’s opening Championship game of the season at home to Blackburn Rovers will be a “huge test” for his young side (KO 3pm). The Town manager was pleased with his team’s performance as they beat League Two Bristol Rovers in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday but expects a far greater challenge to be presented by the recently relegated Lancastrians. |

Yet another last gasp goal prevented the Blues from beating West Brom at Portman Road. The Blues had repelled the high flying Baggies for the 90 minutes and beyond, even going ahead via a controversial Grant Leadbitter penalty, until Chris Brunt forced home a rebound in injury time. |

Midfielder David Norris and striker Jon Stead are set to return to the Town side as the Blues take on third-placed West Brom at Portman Road this evening. Norris was rested at Southampton on Saturday, while Stead is back from his four-game ban. Town will be without skipper Jon Walters, who has a hamstring injury. |
